ABOUT BRAINS & BODS
DR. CHERYL WALKER PT, DPT, BS
Cheryl has a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She is a licensed physical therapist with over a decade of experience in various patient care settings. Early on in her career, she was exposed to specialties such as oncology, orthopedics, and pediatrics. Initially, she thought she would pursue a career in pediatrics, working specifically with children diagnosed with neuromuscular diseases, but eventually went on to work with adults. She has a love for working with people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and is a certified LSVT BIG (Lee Silverman Voice Training BIG) clinician. Her special interests include furthering education and treatment techniques for Parkinson’s Disease, as well as creating awareness for Kawasaki’s Disease.
As a Southern California native, she enjoys the beach and currently resides in San Diego, CA with her husband, two sons, and their dog (Chloe). Cheryl enjoys Pilates, reading, baking, and going out to eat with her family and friends. In her spare time, she perpetually re-decorates her home and indulges in her favorite treats, which are (in no particular order) wine, cheese, chocolate, and ice cream. She describes herself as having high-brow/low-brow interests, meaning she has no problem debating nerve regeneration in spinal cord injuries, or why Porsha is the GOAT of the Real Housewives franchise.
“My mental and physical health is the center of me. I’m learning how to become the best version of myself by keeping this in mind. This concept of “finding balance” does not exist! I’ve learned that life is a constant give and take while navigating highs and lows, plus everything in between. What truly matters is how you treat yourself and your relationships with others. I’d love for you to follow me on my ever changing journey towards lifelong health and happiness.”
